About The Millennium II Freestanding Arch
General Project Variables
These project variables will affect footing designs, and will partially determine costs not included in the arch base package:
Soil Type & Pressures
The condition of the soils on the site that an Arch is being considered for will determine the type and size of required footing. Special circumstances may exist if the soils are determined to have a pressure rating of less than 2,500 PSF. When soil pressures are lower than the 2,500 PSF threshold increased engineering may be required at an additional fee. If there has been any geotechnical investigations performed in the past; that information will be helpful in determining the soil conditions. A geotechnical investigation may be required at an additional fee if soil information is unavailable.
Wind Loads
Wind conditions are a key factor in determining the above and below grade structural design and if there will be any additional engineering required. Our pre-packaged arch has been engineered for wind zones up to 110 mph which cover over 90% of the country. In the event that the site that is being considered for the arch is located in a higher wind zone then 110 mph, additional engineering may be required at an additional fee.
